Research Assistant Opportunity- Marine Paleontology Lab (Bachelor’s or Master’s Level)

Research focus
•We investigate how geological and environmental changes have shaped marine biodiversity through time, with a particular focus on Neogene–Quaternary fossil fishes from the western Pacific. We are also developing research in conservation paleobiology to understand long-term human impacts on marine ecosystems.

Primary responsibilities
•Analyze fish otoliths and marine biodiversity data.
•Assist with fieldwork, including sediment and fossil sampling.
•Curate fossil specimens and associated research collections.
•Support other research activities in the laboratory

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree or above in paleontology, geology, ecology, or a related field.
•Good English communication and writing skills.
•Basic data analysis skills and ability to present results using figures and tables.
•Interest in paleontology, or marine ecology and willingness to learn new things.

**Previous experience with fish otoliths or related techniques is not required; training will be provided. The position offers opportunities to participate in research projects, scientific publications, and international collaborations.

Salary and benefits
Salary follows the Academia Sinica salary scale: 
BS: from NT$40,581/month; MSc: from NT$47,162/month
Labor insurance, National Health Insurance, and a year-end bonus are included. Salary may be adjusted from the second year based on performance.
