研究方向

  • 1.我們研究室的特色在於利用整合性的研究方法,包含野外研究、實驗室操作與數學模式,研究生態與演化問題。
  • 2.目前主要研究的物種,在社會行為研究方面包括台灣的冠羽畫眉、尼泊爾埋葬蟲,以及肯亞的灰頭織巢鳥。 各種不同的社會生物面對的挑戰不同:冠羽畫眉面對各類的幼鳥天敵與台灣中海拔梅雨、颱風與豪雨的環境,尼泊爾埋葬蟲的生態挑戰主要是與蒼蠅的競爭,而灰頭織巢鳥則受到非洲莽原乾燥與高度變動的降雨影響繁殖,我們主要想要了解生態與社會因子如何影響社會行為的演化,以及社會行為如何影響物種的競爭力與生態棲位寬度。
  • 3.我們也透過沿著海拔梯度所創造出的不同溫度梯度,以及比較原始森林與農耕地尼泊爾埋葬蟲的社會行為與繁殖表現,來了解溫度對種間競爭(尼泊爾埋葬蟲與麗蠅)的影響。並且同時利用實驗室的控制環境,仔細研究溫度(包含溫度的高低與日夜的溫差),對種間競爭影響的機制。
