Major Research Achievements (2013-2017)
  • I have examined food webs of wetlands using multiple stable isotopic tracers (carbon, nitrogen and sulfur). Results demonstrate the important roles that macrobenthos play in transferring organic matters derived from detritus to consumers at higher trophic levels. I am also devoting to strategic planning for coastal wetlands conservation greenway. The study results served as a framework for developing the Wetland Conservation Law of Taiwan. Results of ecosystem functions connecting contributions from ecosystem services to human wellbeing demonstrate that benefits of ecosystem services (mangrove as the case) to human prosperity concentrated on mental health, security of continuous supply of services, and physical health. Currently, I serve as a Contributor in Working Group 4: Education, IUCN Horseshoe Crab Species Specialist Group.
